Raise money for dementia

Approximately 900,000 people in the UK currently live with dementia, a number projected to increase to 1,600,000 by 2040. Between 60% to 70% of these cases are diagnosed as Alzheimer’s, the most prevalent form of dementia. The campaign aims to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society.

What is Alzheimer’s?

It is a type of dementia and it is the most common one. It is a progressive disease beginning with mild memory loss and possibly leading to loss of the ability to carry on a conversation and respond to the environment. Alzheimer's disease involves parts of the brain that control thought, memory, and language.

Why the Alzheimer’s society?

  • They organize awareness campaigns, including the acclaimed "Time for Dementia" program. This initiative helps educate young healthcare professionals about Alzheimer's through regular visits with individuals affected by the condition.

  • They support people living with dementia and their carers from the beginning of their diagnosis.

  • They fund cutting-edge research into the cause, care, cure and prevention of dementia. Since 1990, they have invested over £80 million into more than 400 research projects, which have made a real impact to both the dementia research field and people affected by dementia.
